Good News Story | Buco Tomato Trot & Cycle attracts thousands of participants

Lilyfontein School celebrated 24 years of TROTTING where over 2237 participants took part in #6 different races in and around Tomato Country on 2 February. The 55km and 35km cycles were tough and took a good 2-4 hours for participants to cross the finish line. There was a 15km and a 8km cycle which attracted adventure-based learners and parents alike. The notoriously gritty 15km run was very well attended with over 500 participants, with at least half of them belonging to local running clubs in East London. The biggest number of entries was with the 5km Fun Family Run/Walk with 1248 entries. We plotted a new adventurous route this year. It was made up of 2.5km of gravel road and 2.5km of bush coming through our beautiful adventure cross -country course. Thank you to everyone in East London who came to spend the day with us in the country. A massive thank you to our naming sponsor BUCO and event sponsors TWIZZA, Crickley, Ideal Butchery, Crossways Spar, Happy Veg, Packrite Direct and Rainbow Seedlings. Together we are stronger.
