The Employment Relations Forum (ERF) is a working committee made up of passionate people who are leaders with the Human Resources field. Individual committee members sit on various independent boards and business forums giving a voice and bridging the gap between the Business Chamber, Government and Individual Business.
Once a month we share various topics ranging from industrial relations updates, salary negotiations, and training and development. We are privileged to have committee members who train both Nationally and Internationally and are always willing to give valuable advice and impart knowledge and skills at the Business Hub at the Hub events. The ERF committee is in its fourth year of facilitating monthly sessions at Business Hub at the Hub, where businesses and individuals are upskilled, trained and equipped with Human Resources skills, management is strengthened, and businesses are updated with Labour changes and standard HR operating procedures.
Michelle Cloete and Carey Kurten have successfully published two CSI booklets, linking business to the needs of the community. Kim Smallie and Carey Kurten are part of the HRD Development Council, tackling the skills shortages within the Eastern Cape, and Kevin Marlow represents business at UIF meetings.
People are the heart of all successful businesses. The ERF committee values education, training, development and upskilling of talent within business. We are a team passionate about people and East London; passionate about bringing people into our city to fill essential skilled positions, and passionate about growing business and bettering the lives of our community, resulting in a solid foundation for the next generation.
